#CodeOrangeRevival Night #2 - The SOUND of REVIVAL

Tonight (Sat, Sept 10th) the Holy Spirit hit me like a ton of bricks!  I've never seen Pastor John Gray preach before, but the moment he walked out on stage after the worship ended and continued praising God, tears began to roll down my cheeks.  I think the Holy Spirit within me knew what was coming... Little did I know that by the end of the sermon I would be completely undone!  I took a whole bunch of notes, some illegible I was writing so fast, but I am going to try and recap tonight as best I can and hope that you hear the heart of what God was saying.

The first recorded moment where the sound of heaven reached earth is found in Genesis
1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.  2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.  3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.  -  Genesis 1:1-3 (NIV)
What a powerful statement; 'And God said'!  When God said let there be light, it wasn't a suggestion.  God never wastes words.  When He speaks to something, it has no choice but to show up.

Pastor Gray talked about the significance of sound.  That Faith comes by hearing; if there is no sound, you cannot listen.  And then he blew my mind, he said
"The password to your miracle is the sound of your praise."
Did you hear that?  That was the sound of my brain exploding!  That all God needs to hear is the sound of our praise to activate our miracle.  Amazing!

God has been talking to me a lot lately about the beauty in the waiting, the waiting to see His promises fulfilled.  Tonight was no exception.
1 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.  2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.  -  Acts 2:1-2 (NIV)
They waited to see the Father's promise of the gift of the Holy Spirit fulfilled.  And because they obeyed the command of Jesus to "not leave, but wait", a great sound from heaven showed up and filled the whole house.

Pastor Gray went on to say that for the first 5 days, God spoke things into existence on the earth.  But on the 6th day, He did something different, he created man in His likeness from dust and breathed life into us.  He then began to speak about spiritual warfare and the reason why so many of us are experiencing opposition in this season.  It is because God is bringing things to fruition and the devil isn't happy.

Ezekiel 28:13-19 (although about the King of Tyre) paints a spiritual picture, depicting the fall of Lucifer.  A moment where the Angel of Worship (Lucifer) became corrupted by his gift.  And so God cast him out of heaven to earth and he fell like lightning, fire consuming him to ashes.  And when he fell all of the instruments of worship also fell into the dust.  So on that 6th day, when God gathered the dust and formed man and breathed life into him, He created a new being.  One designed and equipped to worship Him with a sound of heaven, that up until that point had only been done by angels.  So every time we open our mouth in worship, the devil hates us because it reminds him of what he used to be able to do.

There was so much great teaching jam packed into this sermon and I really want to get a little bit of all of it out, so I'm going to try and bullet point the last of it (Let's see how this goes, lol).

  • There is Power in your Worship!
  • There is Power in your Hallelujah!
  • There is Power in your "In the name of Jesus"!

**CHOOSE YOUR WORDS**

WORDS DO (3) THINGS:

  1. Words CREATE - They have the power to create our reality
  2. Words CONVENE - When you speak what's on God's mind, everything connected to that has to show up
  3. Words CONQUER - It was the SOUND of a shout that made the walls of Jericho fall.

God wants us moving in Rhythm with him, our sound will be His sound, and sound unlocks your destiny.

SOUND DOES (3) THINGS:

  1. Sound carries Authority - When you speak with the authority of heaven everything has to listen.  The bible says wherever we step it belongs to us - so take authority over your surroundings.  Whilst we are waiting on God, God is waiting for us to release a sound; to open our mouth and start creating and declaring over our lives.
  2. Authority announces Identity
  3. Identity establishes Dominion

(3) KEYS TO THAT SOUND:

  1. Unity - Like in the book of Acts, joining together with like-minded people
  2. Anticipation - Anticipating, Believing, Expecting
  3. Participation - It's not enough for just me to participate, we need to come together, all races, sexes, classes, cultures and break the barriers with a heavenly sound, as one, for The One.

Pastor Gray ended on this question:
WOULD YOU PRAISE IF YOUR BREAKTHROUGH WAS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF YOUR SOUND?

I am blown away by the awesomeness of God.  That even though I am not physically at Elevation Church, God can use the internet to minister to me, right where I am.  If you've made it all the way through this post, I thank you, and I hope that you have been encouraged, challenged and blessed by it!

Stay tuned for night #3 - Christine Caine!
